We live on a rural setting in Marion County, about 5 miles southeast of Salem. We moved from California in 2001 to take up residence in Salem on a large property where our many dogs and cats (and the occassional rabbit) could prosper.
Rob is an economist and still works daily in his office on the property. Penny retired from corporate life in 2005 and has been involved with dog and cat rescue (including an occasional 'other'category...like a goat, a possum, and birds). for the Salem community ever since.
Today, Penny has garnered an extensive cat-care background, having been involved with a local cat shelter and adoption center for 20 years (Salem Friends of Felines) and a dog shelter (Hopes Haven). She has also worked for a local veterinary clinic.
Salem Friends of Felines
Penny can handle the needs of all boarding cats, including vet-prescribed medical procedures, such as pilling, sub-qs and insulin treatments. With her relationship with most veterinary clinics in Salem, Penny can gain quick access to care if a cat should need medical treatment.
Rob participates in the cat boarding business, and is the first person our boarding guests see each morning before he starts work. A top notch poop scooper and our maintenance guru, Rob cleans the boarding facility, pets each cat, and endears himself with the cats with his unique 'meow' imitation. It is quite impressive!
